We will ensure you that when construction is complete; your chimney will run as efficient and safe as possible.

Chimney Cleaning/Inspection
As per National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 211) chimneys should be inspected annually and cleaned as needed to prevent chimney fires. A standard chimney cleaning includes: cleaning of the entire system from the firebox to the chimney cap. Description: Drop Cloths are laid down in front of the fireplace with a Triple-Hepa filtered vacuum running the entire time of the cleaning to control any dust. In most cases chimney flues are cleaned from the top with flat wire brushes. This is the proper way with the end result of a cleaner flue. Once the exterior portion of the cleaning is complete we will also clean from the inside.

Chimney Relining
Installing hundreds of Fireplace liners every year, we are the industry’s expert! The chimney flue is the passage way that goes through the chimney carrying heat and by-products of combustion safely out of your home. Over time the original linings (mostly made of clay) fail and must be relined. This passage way must be lined with an approved material to ensure that the heat from your fireplace is venting properly through your chimney. Gas and oil appliances (including; furnace, boilers, and/or water heaters) need to be properly venting out of your home; an unlined or cracked lining can leak gases back into your home. After properly evaluating your individual home’s needs, we will be able to ensure you with the proper assessment. We use the highest quality of stainless steel that comes with a lifetime warranty.

Chimney Caps/Dampers:
A chimney cap has many functions; it protects your fireplace by not allowing rain and snow to get inside your flue passage which can cause of deterioration and expensive repairs. A chimney cap will also keep out animals such as birds, squirrels, and raccoons. The two most common caps installed are stainless steel and copper caps with animal guards. Did you know the technical term of a chimney cap is a Spark Arrestor? It prevents any sparks from escaping onto your roof and nearby combustible material causing a fire. Chimney caps are a must! We install only the highest quality of Stainless Steel chimney caps that all come with a lifetime warranty.

Tuck-pointing is needed when the mortar holding brick or stone has deteriorated and cracked allowing water penetration into the chimney. When you have your chimney tuck-pointed it is important that all mortar joints (space between the brick/stone) are first ground out one inch and loose mortar is removed. This will allow the new mortar to properly bond to the old brick and mortar. If the bond of the brick or stone has completely separated, tuck-pointing repairs will not last. If this is the case the chimney must be rebuilt.

Chimney Crowns
A properly constructed masonry chimney should have an overhanging concrete crown poured on top, preventing water from entering the masonry structure. This is one of the biggest issues with chimneys in our area and a major cause of deterioration. If you have cracks in your chimney crown or you need any other.

Waterproofing Chimneys
Whenever you have any masonry repair done on your chimney it is important to seal the brick and mortar upon completion. We waterproof masonry chimneys with Chim-Saver water repellent. It is the best waterproofing product available for chimneys and is a 10-year sealant. A properly built, properly maintained chimney will last a lifetime. Chim-Saver water repellent is applied to “older” chimneys as well. If you can’t remember when your chimney was last waterproofed, now is the time. It is the best thing you can do to help extend the life of your chimney.
